with GSS 2.0.7 (the latest IBM version of GSS code for x86_64). This code
uses Scale 4.1.0.8.<br><br>A specific X.Y GSS code build, from my experience, is intended to use a
specific RHEL version. For GSS 2.0, that's RHEL 6.5 (unless I am mistaken),
which no longer has EUS support from RedHat (only 6.7 still does).<br><br>GSS 2.0 release notes/install docs say that &quot;RHEL 6.5 or later&quot;
can be used, which is a surprising statement given GSS/ESS code's sensitivity
to OS levels (any ESS I have ever seen has never been supported on more
than one version of RHEL).<br><br>According to the Scale FAQ (</font><a href=https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/STXKQY/gpfsclustersfaq.html#linux><font size=3 color=blue><u>https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/STXKQY/gpfsclustersfaq.html#linux</u></font></a><font size=3>),
A 2.2, Table 27, Scale 4.1.0.x is supported on RHEL 6.2 and above (implying
RHEL 6.5 and 6.7). But Table 30 indicates that the latest RHEL6 supported
by Scale 4.1.0 is 6.6: for RHEL 6.7 kernel, however, indicates &quot;From
V4.1.1.2 in the 4.1.1 release&quot; ... which contradicts Table 27!<br><br>Anyone know the truth of the matter? Should I stick to RHEL 6.5 to install
GSS 2.0.7, or has it been demonstrated that RHEL 6.7 works (and is supported)?
(and no, Lenovo-sourced code (GSS &gt;= 2.5) is not an option here).<br><br>Many Thanks,<br> &nbsp;Keith</font><tt><font size=2>_______________________________________________<br>gpfsug-discuss mailing list<br>gpfsug-discuss at spectrumscale.org</font></tt><font size=3 color=blue><u><br></u></font><a href="https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__gpfsug.org_mailman_listinfo_gpfsug-2Ddiscuss&amp;d=DwICAg&amp;c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&amp;r=IbxtjdkPAM2Sbon4Lbbi4w&amp;m=u7hLzIRwApuSZgw6uZ_j3uewYEyRTPxRmWJhpM_UAwY&amp;s=bBgN8s6sKOU36_ivUi5NHGarxlF3TNLPyXS-7PA34F0&amp;e="><tt><font size=2 color=blue><u>https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__gpfsug.org_mailman_listinfo_gpfsug-2Ddiscuss&amp;d=DwICAg&amp;c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&amp;r=IbxtjdkPAM2Sbon4Lbbi4w&amp;m=u7hLzIRwApuSZgw6uZ_j3uewYEyRTPxRmWJhpM_UAwY&amp;s=bBgN8s6sKOU36_ivUi5NHGarxlF3TNLPyXS-7PA34F0&amp;e=</u></font></tt></a><font size=3><br><br><br></font><tt><font size=2>_______________________________________________<br>gpfsug-discuss mailing list<br>gpfsug-discuss at spectrumscale.org<br></font></tt><a href="https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__gpfsug.org_mailman_listinfo_gpfsug-2Ddiscuss&amp;d=DwICAg&amp;c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&amp;r=IbxtjdkPAM2Sbon4Lbbi4w&amp;m=4uHjPqPoMOnTJmSUAO5lPaI-I9TxUZG7tosuUx85sIg&amp;s=tPqgg4TTZ9J88YaLOrAT74IcV_33GWv11K2oywQOGDw&amp;e="><tt><font size=2>https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__gpfsug.org_mailman_listinfo_gpfsug-2Ddiscuss&amp;d=DwICAg&amp;c=jf_iaSHvJObTbx-siA1ZOg&amp;r=IbxtjdkPAM2Sbon4Lbbi4w&amp;m=4uHjPqPoMOnTJmSUAO5lPaI-I9TxUZG7tosuUx85sIg&amp;s=tPqgg4TTZ9J88YaLOrAT74IcV_33GWv11K2oywQOGDw&amp;e=</font></tt></a><tt><font size=2><br></font></tt><br><br><BR>
